Gossshh it strikes me that after exactly one year Behind the Velvet Curtain i had the same feelings while reading: Close to the heart, intimate and personal, if this story was just for me.Michael DeGragio confiscate in an improper way some money and moves away from home with his friend Kenny.
Telling your moving to Los Angeles instead of San Francisco because it sounds less gay... sorry it's really funny inventive.
Michael is such a nice guy, always kind and polite (don't abuse him because.....)
I hoped to know more about his sexual fantasies....and damn there he goes...to the bath house....
After the break up, his life is getting better Karma does her work properly ;)
He gets a room and a job at the same place. Only strange things are happening in certain parts of the building...!!
Michael has a clear vision and I don't think he is aware of it but also really funny. He sounds serious but express himself humorous. I had a big smile while reading....
I love his confidence and trust for the future. He is such a pleasant personality, I would really love to have him as a friend.
At 69% I felt a tear rolling down my cheek, dear dear Gran what a great woman.
All the little story's through this story were really well written and very enjoyable.
Again the smooth way of telling his life is close to the heart, intimate, it felt real and honest, funny, with some tiny thriller parts and last but not least some parts are sexy as hell.
The end of the Prequel just gave me goosebumps because i knew what was coming......the story of Matt Jaxx
~~ I just loved Gran with her plaque “SILENCE PLEASE! You Are Now In The Presence of a GENIUS AT WORK.” ~~

Strip Shot Matt Converse 9781543132144 Books Reviews
One of the most seriously annoying complaints that I have as an avid, hardcore reader is that while we may live in the age of "anyone can publish anything" we are also apparently living in the age of "without regard to basic rules of grammar and punctuation". I really do despise investing time to read something that wasn't even taken seriously enough by it's author to warrant proofreading and this book is a perfect example.
I should note that I didn't purchase "Strip Shot" - a reality for which I suspect I will always remain grateful, despite the 99 cent price tag - but am basing my review on the first chapter of the sample that I downloaded free. My most serious complaint is the author's apparent inability to correctly use punctuation. The excessive use of commas breaks up some sentences and ideas while forcing others together in a manner that, if read aloud, makes the entire experience painful. There are also one or two elementary level spelling mistakes that stick out like sore thumbs by virtue of the fact that they are, literally, elementary. Its a "snow globe" not a "snow glob". Once is a typo but twice indicates a uniformity of misspelling that can only mean nobody bothered to proofread the final draft before publication. I will forego any comments on grammar and complete my review by simply stating that I've read more than enough of this author to last ten lifetimes.
I really enjoyed this true, story coming-of-age story about how a scrawny kid who was bullied and called a sissy in school leaves behind his home in Ohio and moves to San Francisco where he feels at home in the gay community and eventually becomes a popular stripper who dances to songs by Lady Gaga. After finishing the book, I watched a music video of her song "Applause", Matt's song of choice in his early career, and imagined what he might look like dancing to it. I'm sure he put on a great show.
This book was great story about Micheal and his adventures to a new place. At the age of 21 he kinda took some money from his Gran which makes him fee bad...just so he and Kenny could leave this place behind them. San Francisco they where bound which they'd settled in to a dingy flat until they could get jobs. Micheal knows that he and Kenny are not going to make it long term in their relationship. 3 months latter after an abusive argument Micheal runs out the flat not looking back. What happens next to Michael as he finds his way in amongst San Francisco, you'll need to read this book. Adventures include Drama, Paranormal Beings and great scenes..
I haven't read the book this is a prequel to. If I had, maybe I would have enjoyed this one more, but I found it rather cyclical and boring. The main character is a mary sue. He doesn't do anything worth mentioning the whole book except for dump an abusive boyfriend, but even that isn't a huge victory moment because he's literally been trying to dump the guy from the very beginning of the book. He goes through life walking into hot dicks and a couple of jobs. He doesn't really seem to struggle or try for anything. Many scenes felt like this. "He loved that I loved it, and I loved that he loved that I loved it. And we were loving it together." The sex is all just oral, all with perfect strangers, and there's no real connection or depth or character growth that I could see. I knew it was a book about becoming a stripper, I just thought it might surprise me by being emotionally resonant or thought provoking. I didn't LIKE the main character so maybe that was my problem.
Entertaining read!! Strip Shot is even better than Behind the Velvet Curtain. It hooked me from the get go and was nearly impossible to put down. This new author has an amazing ability of mixing a bit of paranormal with some rather hot erotica. Five stars for this one! Victor
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A look behind the scenes of how Michael got his start with some interesting twists along the way. I love the way this was written, it kept me so engaged with the story. A very interesting read that I would highly recommend. Now I need to go back and read " Behind the Velvet Curtain" again! Loved them both and can't wait for Matt's next book!
I really enjoyed this tale. I could visualize the main characters journey to his new life, the places he ended up and the struggles he faced. I can't wait to read the follow-up story now and see how it all plays out.
